Challenge 2

Hi Ladies!

Here we go with Challenge #2!!! Okay, I know that Challenge 1 isn’t due until Sunday, but this is how the challenges will work… with a slight overlap. This way, you have a total of 3 weekends to work on any given set of photos. Also, the keeners can get a head start (that won’t be me… I need to finish Challenge 1!).

Photo Style/Element: Close Up

--this can be macro or portrait or whatever, but part of your photo needs to be blurry (to show a shallow depth of field). If you are working in manual mode, the smaller the f number, the more blur you will get and therefore focused in on your subject. The blurring can range from minor to extreme. If your camera is not capable, then there are always ways of faking it in photoshop – just ask if you need help.

Subjects:

1. Something patriotic (because of Canada and Independence Day coming up)
2. Water
3. Nature

Bonus subject: fireworks or sparklers – does not have to be shot as a close up. Remember, safety comes before getting the shot. Play safe.

NOTE** you may complete 2 of each subject again as long as they are different. Only one set is necessary to complete the challenge as well as a tip. Let me know as you complete your photos to update the first post. So, 3 photos completes the challenge and you can shoot up to 8. Once you feel you are done, let me know and I’ll mark you as completed. Again, no posting until the posting date… we’ll stick to that this time as it just about drove me nuts not to look. Haha! I'm just WAY too curious!!

So your options are really wide open… but, you have to stay within the element and the subject (except for the bonus). Now, keep in mind everything we were thinking of with the composition challenge. Think about your photos and what is going in them. Watch your backgrounds too.

Posting date: July 13th

Send any future challenge suggestions by PM.
